Indy Parks Greenways: Trail
Rules
Our
Greenways are open from dawn until dusk, and are routinely patrolled by Indy Park Rangers,
Volunteer Trail Monitors, and EMTs. It is important, though, to exercise common-sense
precautions, especially at street crossing and along thoroughfares. So that you do not
endanger yourself or others, please observe the following guidelines.
Be considerate of all trail users, especially small children and senior citizens.
Always be aware of your speed and trail conditions.
Communicate before passing others.
Share the trail courteously.
Respect private property.
In-line skaters and bikers yield to pedestrians. Bicyclists yield to all trail users.
Keep to the right and pass on the left.
Keep pets on short leashes and clean up after them.
Dispose of trash properly.
Be especially courteous to users with special needs.
Wait for a clear walk signal before crossing streets, look both ways and cross
carefully.
Always give vehicles extra room. They may not see you.
Yield to trail users when entering the path.
Do not disturb animals or vegetation.
In an emergency, call 911.
Report unsafe trail conditions to 327-7431.
Report non-emergency concerns to Indy Parks Rangers, 327-7140
